HID on the Desktop (Network Access Control) by HID

The primary component of HID on the Desktop is the “converged” card; a single credential that can be used as a photo ID badge, as a “key” that opens doors and as a second authentication factor for IT network access control.

Open doors. Open Windows®

HID on the Desktop contactless solutions, Prox on the Desktop™ and iCLASS on the Desktop™ address the need for simple, convenient and secure integrated physical/logical access control. They are extremely flexible, use two factor authentication and employ these basic elements:

  • An HID contactless card (the same card used for physical access) as one authentication factor, with a PIN as the other
  • An OMNIKEY® reader that is compatible with the card
  • naviGO™ software to manage the authentication process ensuring network security

Secure – Two factor authentication (card + PIN) eliminates concern over password attacks

Convenient – Use the exact same card for physical access (doors) and logical access (Windows® log-on)

Flexible – Offers user and administrator-driven workflow

Value – You can use existing HID deployed cards; no need to reissue

Easy – easy to install and manage hardware and software provides simple, convenient system setup and maintenance with minimal IT support
